The mission of the Educational Services Program is to encourage full participation in civic community life and to expand work opportunities for our participants. Círculo’s Career and Educational program empowers clients providing education in a safe, non-threatening, nurturing environment where adults gain confidence communicating via enhanced skills in:

Through the Career Services Program, Círculo provides high quality employment services to clients representing a wide range of educational, cultural and social-economic backgrounds. When needed for individual career development, we tap into Círculo’s educational resources including ESL, GED/TASC and literacy and computer training resources.

usa flagCírculo de la Hispanidad offers classes in Citizenship to individuals who are preparing to become U.S. Citizens.  Participants are offered the language skills and civics knowledge they need to attain citizenship, to live full and productive lives, and to participate fully in the civic life of their communities. This program provides students with content-based lessons covering topics in U.S. history and government that integrates English literacy and civics competencies.

adult computer classCírculo de la Hispanidad offers Computer classes in Spanish for adults. Students who have no experience with computers can learn the basics in this class. The goal of this course is to illustrate how important computers are in modern society and their value in solving problems. Specific topics include the use of software applications, the Internet, basic computer functions and the proper identification of computer hardware components.

Círculo provides job training in the area of culinary and hospitality services.  Classes are held at Círculo Center. Participants learn basic culinary skills including kitchen safety, soups, stocks, meats, vegetables and other dishes.

Cooking on a Budget

Círculo conducts educational classes for individuals who want to learn how to shop and cook on a limited budget and for those that want to enhance their cooking skills.

Cooking for One

cooking classThis education series for singles helps individuals that are cooking and shopping for one learn about what foods are nutritious and how to prepare items minimizing food waste.  Choices may be different when shopping for one.   Círculo’s culinary education series provides educational information to individuals to help them make informed decision about the food they eat.  The three part education series focuses on helping singles learn how to shop and choose nutritious ingredients on a limited budget.   Participants also learn to prepare basic meals.

Cooking for the Family

This education series focuses on helping individuals develop skills to prepare nutritious meals for the family.  Shopping tips for nutritious ingredients will be discussed. Participants will learn how to prepare basic nutritious meals for themselves and their families.

Culinary Classes

Círculo offers culinary classes to the community as part of its educational enrichment programs for adults.  The classes provide individuals with information about how to prepare tasty culinary delights.

Círculo offers classes in flamenco, salsa, merengue and mambo.  Classes operate out of Círculo’s Dance Studio in Long Beach.


Círculo offers flamenco classes for children and adults. Participants perform in Círculo’s Mother’s Day and Winter Holiday shows.

Flamenco for Children

Eileen Ambroise teaches Círculo’s children’s flamenco classes.  Ms. Ambroise has been a life-long dancer and she teachers many forms of dance.  Her passion has been flamenco which she has danced for over ten years and studied in Spain. Children learn technique and choreography.  They perform in Círculo’s Mother’s Day and Winter Holiday shows

María Loretto, founder of Sol Y Sombra, teaches Círculo’s adult flamenco classes. She is an accomplished professional with extensive experience performing throughout the United States Spain and other locations abroad.   Classes are for beginners to advanced students.  Individuals learn technique and choreography.

Salsa, Merengue, Mambo

David Cortes “Dtrix”, brings his experience and enthusiasm as a dancer to Círculo’s Dance Studio.  He instructs students from the beginner to advanced level, helping them learn technique and form improve their moves on the dance floor.

Nina's classCírculo de la Hispanidad offers English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction in a supportive environment with excellent teachers. Classes are offered in Long Beach and Hempstead locations.  We welcome students coming to the United States from abroad as well as those already living nearby. Courses are for basic and intermediate level students who want to improve their language skills while exploring a variety of topics. Our comprehensive ESL programs can help you:

  2. Become more successful on the job.

Círculo de la Hispanidad offers the TASC program in Spanish to prepare students to take the test to get their high school equivalency diploma.   The TASC test assesses five subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

Spanish Classes


Circulo offers instruction in Spanish.  Individuals interested in this program receive instruction to help them understand grammar and to be able to read and write in Spanish. Participants learn about the rich history and culture of different Spanish speaking countries.
